We saw a lot of elephants in Samburu Game Reserve which is 400 kilometers from Nairobi in the remote northern area of Kenya. Elephants are protected in Kenya but can be very destructive and are destroying many of the trees.

Did you know that when the elephant walks, he puts his hind feet in the track left by his front feet? The elephant is the largest living land animal. They love the water and can swim for up to six hours at a time.

Below is a reticulated giraffe. They get darker as they age.

We stayed at a tented camp next to a river full of crocodiles. One night we discovered a large monitor lizard in our tent. We chased it out with sticks. The crocodile below is a very young one.
