At Kings Camp we enjoyed morning and evening safaris, spacious rooms with sherry and hot water bottles and heating pads on the beds as we listened to the sounds of lions outside our rooms at night. On our first night back from safari a hot bubble bath was waiting for us. Highly recommended. Dinner was at the boma where we were served different types of game cooked over an open fire.

The Boma

Kings Camp Land Rover
One day we went on a walking safari near the camp. We spotted some elephant tracks and soon came upon a couple crossing a dry river. We were careful to keep our distance.
On our last day in Kings Camp we saw two large lions. Our guide, Patrick, said these two cats were staking out their territory and were seeking to oust the two smaller males that we had seen on our first night eating the cape buffalo.
We were joined by two couples from Australia on our last safari. We had hot water bottles and blankets to keep us warm in the early morning chill.
A herd of cape buffalo.
Just as Patrick was telling us what good eye sight a giraffe has, this one spotted the two lions approaching and took off.
Our last wildlife sighting before leaving Kings Camp for Victoria Falls.
Jaclyn, age 15, and Schyler, age 14, seem to be really enjoying the trip so far.
